Via CBSSports: Earlier this month, Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in eight months. The legendary Bills quarterback’s first battle with jaw cancer ended a couple weeks after surgery in June 2013, but his wife, Jill Kelly, wrote on her personal blog late last week that “the cancer’s back, aggressive, and starting to spread.”

On her Instagram page, Jill also said her husband is tentatively scheduled for surgery Thursday.

Somber day here at B’More2Boston.  When I read this last night and saw that picture of Jim in his hospital bed, I almost didn’t realize him.  Jim Kelly was a great football player and by all accounts he’s been a great man.  Here’s hoping for a speedy and full recovery for a guy I grew up watching and admiring.  I hope Jim knows the all of Bills Nation and the rest of the country are behind him.

Kelly is currently in NYC awaiting surgery on Thursday.  Send all of your good thoughts and prayers his way over the next few days.

P.S. I think it’s moments like these that make me want to get more involved in helping those affected by cancer.  There’s so much work that still needs to be done and any type of support that you can give is greatly appreciated.

To lighten the mood, here are some highlights from Kelly’s career (pretty sure I’ve used this video before.)
