I headed in to Ore over the weekend with The Bostonista and Style-Wire to scope out the new shop's stock of gorgeous, fearless jewelry and accessories. When it comes to jewelry shopping, I'm all about a non-fussy, hands-on experience. Luxury doesn't have to be stuffy or staged, and honestly, what is more luxurious than hand-made pieces by talented, trained artists who happen to be gorgeous, 20-something local ladies?
Tucked away in Boston’s historic South End, within blocks of Copley, Newbury Street, and Back Bay Station, Ore is the neighborhood’s newest staple shopping destination for a range of handmade pieces by New England’s strongest accessories designers. The boutique features the full line of work by owner Sophie Hughes, as well as a selection of jewelry by Lauren Passenti, Hannah Blount, and Laura Jaklitsch, small-batch perfume by MCMC, bags by Meg Erickson, and scarves by Ashley Conchieri.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces in gold and silver. I mostly went for long necklaces that played up the silk bow on my Celine blouse, and gold earrings that complimented my new, more dramatic ombre tips. A fistful of rings with stone elements from Lauren Passenti, and a big, textured tab ring from Sophie Hughes rounded out my edgy/glam look.
