Trying to re-do a Gilberto track has the potential to make me lose respect for any artist instantly, no matter how much I love them initially - think about how awful it'd be to taint Joao & Astrud, it'd be positively criminal to destroy Stan Getz in any way at all. But I think Jerome LOL gets away with this edit of Corcovado because he has an evident respect for the original, it doesn't seem lost in the thumping electronic elements - some how that doesn't 'get in the way' of it all as you may expect (which I know sounds completely off) but that makes it all the more intriguing.
