Jenny and Andy’s May Wedding in Wagner Cove, Central Park

By Wedincentralpark @CentralParkWed

Jenny and Andy came to New York from Hertfordshire in the UK along with their family and friends to get married in Central Park in May.
They met through friends in a nightclub and had known each other for around eighteen months before they started dating. They had been together for nine years before they got married. They got engaged a year before their wedding at the top of Mount Tibidabo overlooking Barcelona.
Andy took Jenny to New York City for her thirtieth birthday in 2012 and they fell in love with the place. So, when they got engaged they did not even consider any other wedding locations. Jenny had always wanted to get married outside so Central Park felt like the perfect choice for them.

When they returned this time for their wedding the stayed for week. They brought Jenny’s son, Keiran with them, so they stayed in a suite at the Hilton Mid Town.
Their party was seven in total. They chose Wagner Cove for their ceremony location and it suited their small group perfectly. There was Jenny’s mom and her husband, and Jenny’s best friend and her husband, and of course Jenny’s son, Keiran, who gave her away.
We had an acoustic guitarist play at the ceremony. He brought his guitar down to the area next to the wooden structure and played some songs that Jenny and Andy had requested in advance while we waited for Jenny to arrive. I waited at the top of the steps that go down to Wagner Cove, and when Jenny arrived, I gave Brian the signal and Jenny made her grand entrance to the Goo Goo Dolls song Iris.

Jenny carried a silk bouquet which her mom had made for her. She wore an ivory Intermissi dress, and her friend had done her hair and makeup for her.
After the ceremony was over and the photos were taken they left Central Park and all went for a meal at Wolf and Lamb on East 48th Street, “the food was amazing,” said Jenny.
Jenny said that she found it a little strange that so many people approached them to congratulate them. It is true that you do feel a little like a celebrity when getting married in Central Park.
