Jazz Up the Jungle Hut

By Alternativeeden @markngaz

How we decorated the jungle hut, or more appropriately jungle verandah this year hadn't changed much at all from last year. A few items were moved about to different places and that it when it came to those few changes.

However, much I liked how I felt about the garden a few weeks ago I thought it was looking relatively sparse. The space was fine by us as it made it easier to move around as we do use the space a lot but when it came to taking photos of the space it needed more 'oomph'.

Especially as we are expecting gardening visitors over the next few weeks to see the garden and we assume that they will want to take photos it, jungle verandah included. So after thinking about it we decided the space could do with some extra stage dressing. So a quick trip to the shops was undertaken and also a few items that were waiting in the wings up in the attic were taken down and utilised to help spice up the space.

Let me show you what it is looking like at the moment and what subtle (and temporary) changes that were made...

We use the table to put drinks on so normally it only has the square plate of candles on it. But for the sake of stage dressing I temporarily added the three lotus vases that normally lives in the koi shed, a parrot, and a pineapple urn.

This parrot has been here since last year, just moved to a different spot.

Whilst in the shops I looked for items that looked 'exotic' and colourful but found on that particular trip that options were rather limited. Then I spotted these two pictures frames and thought they would do the job nicely. A photo of a protea bloom and close up of Aloe polyphylla were placed and presto! I might move them in the house next month as I like them enough to use indoors.

A few views from within.

This candlestick is new.

The straw hats were some of the old ones resurrected from the attic.

Now a few more shots of the interior of the jungle verandah.

Once the series of planned visits are over we may decongest the jungle hut to how it was before. Or maybe not. I quite like it with the extra props. We'll just have to adjust around them.
