Javier Bardem jumps into quirky character as he films adaptation of beloved children's book Lyle, Lyle Crocodile in New York

He's an Academy Award-winning actor with a host of notable roles under his belt.

And Javier Bardem easily jumped into character while filming an adaptation of beloved children's book Lyle, Lyle Crocodile in New York on Tuesday morning.

The 52-year-old thespian sported a fluorescent orange Florida Gators shirt with a blue long-sleeve for scenes filmed on a stoop in uptown Manhattan.

Bardem meant business wearing a pair of rusty red trousers with brown leather suspenders attached to his hips.

He added another eccentric pop with a pair of navy blue-and-white oxfords to match his Gators hat from the University of Florida.

Javier's dark, curly hair was cut just above his shoulders and matched a thick mustache and bushy eyebrows.

He was later spotted running out onto the street in grand fashion as he filmed the live-action animated musical.

Javier looked comfortable wearing a green silky robe on top of a casual blue T-shirt as he waved his hands in the air.

He pounded the pavement in a classic pair of black-and-white zebra stripe slip-ons and waved a red paisley print tie.
