Jason & Laura. A Quirky Family Farm Wedding By David Le Design & Photography

By Jax

Well how can you not love a bride who wears yellow nail polish on her wedding day! Jason & Laura's family farm wedding is rustic with quirky goodness and I am love with so many details, the tiny church, the sweet cooperative dog (good boy!), the well-loved car, the super cool diy signage and the vegetarian buffet (YUM!) just to name a few. All captured perfectly by the talented DAVID LE DESIGN & PHOTOGRAPHY, today's wedding proves that a rainy day can make for spectacular photos!!! Enjoy xox

Our love story began when we were shooting a great outdoors episode in the Daintree Rainforest in Queensland and met up a Strangling Fig Tree. Web became friends and then Jason went home to Finish Uni (Canterbury) and I Got a Job on a Yacht that ended up in Auckland. I went to Dannevirke to visit and then after travelling and living together for 8 years... we decided to get married here in NZ.

I said YES because I have so much respect for Jason and want to spend the rest of my life with him planning and having fun.

Inspiration for the day was the Farm Location - so a rustic theme was a must. I loved finding all the materials around the farm to up cycle and have as part of the decorations.

Save items were the Cars which belonged to Jason's Dad 2 x Cadillac Limousines.

Splurge was the booze, we wanted to make sure there was plenty of variety for our guests - so the menu was robust, and the price tag was similar - but as it was not at a professional venue it still worked out quite cheap in comparison.

Special moments music - Use somebody - by Kings of Leon (as the musician was late and didn't know the original song we requested. Classic bridal song for down the aisle.

If I could do anything differently I would have planned a bit more especially around the possibilities of rain (which we were lucky enough to receive some drought breaking rain on the day) and it was a mad rush for a lot of our family members on the morning to change the outdoor setting quite drastically.

Advice for future brides would be rely on the really reliable people, the ones that just say Yes and get on with it - those people are gold when planning your big day. When you wake up on the morning and stop worrying and just enjoy whatever the day brings.
