So you see, something about me getting brainwashed happened…
Sunday I decided to go to Central Park because it was Japan Day. I had not been to Japan Day in some time, so I made sure to remember that it was happening. I made a mental note. I checked the date. I even wrote it on my hand ok no I didn’t but– I let some friends know that if they there were free on Sunday about Japan Day, so of course I would remember.
So I went. And had an ok time.
There was definitely a lot of stuff that I ended up doing there. Ended up doing some calligraphy…ended up playing with balloons…even tried a yukata, which, I wasn’t actually planning to do what I got there, but I did it anyways. Yes, the picture with me in a yukata is included, so this can only end painfully for me.
Ultimately, the only big time fail on my fault was not eating. I only waited on one line to get gyoza, and failed to get any ramen. Yes, the line was long, but that’s no excuse. By the time I remembered to go get some, the volunteers were basically done. So I messed up. At least I did get the gyoza though, it was great.
Aside from that, it was a decent experience on a nice day. The music wasn’t all that great, nothing stood out at all. I wish there was a Go tent somewhere last like time, but I got to play Karuta instead. No, it wasn’t true Karuta, but it was good enough Karuta. And I took pictures. Don’t worry, nothing sketchy with Domo happens. I swear!
As you can tell, yukata and kimonos were popular.
…So naturally there’d be one cute kid wearing one. Duh.
…So of course that meant I had to join in.
Long line for free Gyoza is real.
And…well…I’m on TV apparently. With Domo. I’m pretty sure I was brainwashed or something.
