January Strolls

I've always enjoyed a good walk but this year seems to be all I'm doing.  Me and the dog love to go off on adventures into the country especially on a Sunday afternoon.
The other week my two fabulous friends and I ventured over to Bradgate Park in Leicestershire.
It was a chilly but sunny day, (the best kind of days in winter) and I find as long as you are dress appropriately for the weather then you'll be content in whatever you're doing... as they say "no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing"
So here is my pooch, Olly who was delighted to be off on a new trot.  I'll admit my dog is a bit like rain-man... extremely clever but a bit odd!  He's similar to some extent like Marley from Marley & Me, but he's 3 and still enjoying his life like he were a puppy.
I have seen so many tweets, Facebook status updates and internet articles about how people are trying to shed those pounds, well if exercise is new to you or you fancy something different.... get walking! I honestly love getting out in the fresh air and indulging in beautiful scenery.

You don't need all the latest walking gear to get into this activity, I obviously do suggest you get some good walking boots if you're wanting to do it a lot - they support you loads!
I have the hunter wellington boots (mainly because I love how pink they are) but any wellies will do, just make sure you have some good warm socks on.  I usually wear leggings, a big jumper, scarf then some sort of waterproof jacket.
It's even better in the UK when you're walking and the sun is shining!  I love being so close to the countryside and being able to walk and escape everyday stresses and strains.
If you want to try walking, I suggest trying to look at local places you can go for walks and organize a group of you to walk.  Obviously I personally find it easier to walk with my dog as my companion, but you can just go for walks with no dog... it's just great to get out in the fresh air whichever way you do it.
