When I think of Janelle Monáe, I think total badass mofo, and her new video for “Heroes” only reinforces this. Monáe is featured as a superhero in her own fabricated comic book, fighting for justice and basically being awesome. In the video, a group of bullied kids band together after being inspired by comic Monáe and sport some homemade costumes to stand up to their enemies. Monáe’s voice alone can make you feel invincible, so it’s no wonder the comic had the same effect on the kids. This David Bowie cover is part of Pepsi’s Beats of the Beautiful Game album which highlights the greatness of football.
