James & Katy’s Wedding | Rollesby Church | The Old Rectory | Norwich | Norfolk

2nd February 2013

The day had arrived, I was excited to be shooting James and Katy’s wedding as Katy had e-mailed me on a weekly basis informing me of all the things that were to happen, resulting in me feeling like a friend photographing the wedding as I knew so much about it :0)

I arrived at The Old Rectory in Crostwick,  just on the outskirts of Norwich at  7:15am as Katy’s hairdresser wanted to get started early, and I needed to be there to get in on all the action.

The Old Rectory’s manager led me to Katy’s room and I was welcomed in by Katy’s Mum,  to find the room was very calm, with no one stressed, worried or nervous.  From that moment I knew it was going to be a relaxed chilled out wedding.  The only time I saw Katy wobble (my term for tears)  was when her gorgeous flowers turned up, she was so thrilled to see that they were exactly what she wanted, which is always a pleasure to see.

Katy was then joined by her bridesmaids for the final preparations and to help her get into her dress, the atmosphere was buzzing by this point, as all their preparations were successfully coming to an end, to start what would be one of the best days of Katy’s life!

I left Katy and the girls and headed over to Rollesby Chucrh to meet James and the boys. James was waiting patiently with his best man and ring bearing son Thomas, and I grabbed this opportunity to do some lovely shots with them before Katy arrived.

After the ceremony we managed to grab some shots within the church yard and then headed back to Norwich for their reception at the Old Rectory.

The reception went smoothly and to plan and all were happy with great speeches and good food.  We then lead out into the gardens to do some couple shots before the sun went down and the temperature!

After the sun had set, we grabbed the opportunity to take advantage of the willow tree which had been decorated with beautiful twinkly lights, and got an amazing result, as I’m sure  you will agree.

Finally, as always another great shot was had on the dance floor for James & Katy’s ‘First dance’, ending what was a great day photography wise for me.

I would like to thank all the staff for their hospitality at The Old Rectory, Norwich, Norfolk and Beth for being my assistant for the day, but most of all James & Katy for allowing me to be their wedding photographer on their special day to capture some great shots.

Congratulations to Katy and James once again.
