Celebrities often introduce NFT collections of various types these days. Everyone has made their own projects available for followers, from Snoop Dogg to Bella Hadid. With the release of an NFT collection that supports a good cause, rapper Ja Rule has now joined the group as a new member.
Together with his collaborator Herb Rice, he created this project, which is known as the “Black is Beautiful” collection. 1,000 graphic images by artist Nick Davis that portray black life in America are included in the collection.
According to Rule, “It’s basically telling the story of Black America, from our joy to our pain.”
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) such Morgan State University, Hampton University, Spelman College, Jackson State University, and Morehouse College will receive the first $25,000 profit from the collection once it has been sold. The gift will be matched by his own business, ICONN Media, making a total of $50,000.
The rapper is a well-known member of the creative group The Painted House. Due to the fact that many members of the house have attended HBCUs, the project is quite personal. There are rumors that the rapper will contribute directly to the art departments at certain HBCUs.
Ja Rule has already sold NFT paintings related to the controversial Fyre Festival, so this is not his first NFT endeavor.
