JCB NO.47, J’NOON White & J’NOON Red

When passion meets inspiration, an obsession is born. Jean-Charles Boisset, acclaimed French vintner and proprietor of Boisset Collection, France’s 3rd largest wine group and Burgundy’s largest wine producer and Kapil Sekhri, the dynamic entrepreneur and co-founder of Fratelli Wines, a premium Indian wine brand well acclaimed for its benchmark quality have collaborated together to present “J’NOON” range of wines.

Inspired by India’s unique culture and beauty, this is the first collaboration of its kind in the Indian wine industry where they have created wines on the Indian soil that cater to the global market.

It is born out of a passionate collaboration with the intention to create the finest wines on the Indian terroir. J’NOON is Jean-Charles Boisset and Kapil Sekhri’s artistic take on the urdu word ‘Junoon’, meaning passion.

It is this unrelenting feeling they have tried to capture in 2400 limited edition bottles of each wine – sparkling, white and red created with grapes carefully selected and handpicked from the Fratelli estate-owned vineyards in Akluj,  a town in Solapur district of Maharashtra located on the right bank of the Nira River.

Skillfully crafted by JCB and created by the Fratelli team at their winery, sparkling JCB No. 47, J’NOON White & J’NOON Red are all subtle and intense. The sparkling wine named “No. 47” in honor of India’s independence is a tribute to the love Jean-Charles Boisset felt for India and its terroir when he visited for the first time. Each of these exclusive numbered bottles of JCB No. 47, J’NOON White & J’NOON Red will have limited circulation.

This is Boisset Collection’s third global collaboration and the first ever with an Indian winemaker.

“We are all driven to wine as a product and treat it like an art for our senses. I can’t think of a better way to describe Jean-Charles than an artist who creates wines. In him, I have been lucky to have discovered the friendship of a very fine man. For Fratelli, it’s a glorious moment to be sharing and harbouring such a splendid collaboration in J’NOON and JCB No. 47. This is our roar to the world and we hope it will take us to newer heights.” – Kapil Sekhri, Co-Founder of Fratelli Wines

J’NOON global launch kick-started in India with a special evening in New Delhi at The Deck, Hyatt Regency Delhi, onto an intimate soiree co-hosted with Chef extraordinaire Manu Chandra at Olive Beach in Bangalore and arriving on Mumbai shores in an evening presented with Master of Wines Sonal Holland at Four Seasons and Mr. Parveen Chander, General Manager at Taj Lands End.

This will be followed by the launch in US and UK markets in the summer of 2018.

“A deep attraction to India and meeting with the Sekhri family prompted me to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a unique wine as a part of my own Indian dream. I feel sometimes, that this incredible venture was meant to be as I relate to each and every one of its manifestations.  From the root where I sense the smell and the ground from where the desire of taste appears, the vision which brings the solar vitality, the heart that connects the balance with love, the throat where creativity resonates, the eye where the intuition and perception is symbolically clear and finally where the awareness of the crown which brings enlightenment! This is a lot to take in, I know but J’NOON is a celebration of the connection of all our senses. Enjoy this incredible journey.” – Jean-Charles Boisset, Proprietor of Boisset Collection

Our bodies are flutes with seven whirling chakras through which energy rises from root to crown. The earth also has a network of electric currents that are affected by human activity and reciprocally, it influences our individual and collective flows. Whether consciously or unconsciously, all humans are sensitive to the frequencies emanating from cosmic and telluric energies. We believe that wine can be an ambrosia of creativity when correctly balanced with lunar and telluric energies.

J’NOON is an invitation to savour this experience.

About JCB No.47

100% Chardonnay Brut

We named this single-vineyard sparkling wine No. 47 in honor of the year of India’s independence, 1947. From the sandy soils in Motewadi, the wine has prominent mineral notes with aromas of green apple, tropical fruit and brioche; it is rich in the mouth with great texture, yet dry and beautiful to pair with Indian cuisine. The wine was barrel fermented in French oak barrels and then the secondary fermentation took place in the bottle, following the methode traditionnelle of sparkling winemaking. The wine spent a total of 24 months in barrel and bottle before release.

MRP – Rs. 3500

About J’NOON White

60% Chardonnay,

40% Sauvignon Blanc

This blend of barrel-fermented Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from the sandy and rocky soils of Garwar combines green apple, white pear and stone fruit flavours of Chardonnay with fresh, vibrant lime, lemongrass, white pepper, jasmine and herbaceous fruit flavours of Sauvignon

Blanc. This white wine places our palate between Pouilly-Fuisse and the white wines of the Northern Rhône Valley. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.

MRP – Rs. 2500

About J’NOON Red

Cabernet Sauvignon 57.5%,

Petit Verdot / Marcelan 38.5%, Sangiovese 4%

This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, co-fermented Petit Verdot and Marselan, and Sangiovese in Garwar spent 24 months in French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. The Cabernet Sauvignon contributes backbone as well as freshness to this exquisite blend. The Petit Verdot, Marselan and Sangiovese grapes paint the wine deep purple and provide luscious flavours of black fruits with structured tannins, a full body and a long, silky finish. It places us to the right bank of Bordeaux, with freshness, notes of spearmint and graphite against a backdrop of cedar, fresh tobacco. Bone dry, it would pair beautifully with rich foods.

MRP – Rs. 4000
