There’s a touch of Delta Sleep in the intricate guitar work and slow-burning intro before Joey Ashworth pours their heart out to help a loved one in need: ‘I feel your guilt through the walls of Jerusalem, I hear your cries from the back of the stadium’.
This is followed by a plea, amidst heavier riffs and twinkly emolodies to the subject to save themselves: ‘Grow up and pay your rent’. These capture the love and desire in Joey’s repeated words as they urge the person in question to stop lying and come back to a happier place: ‘I want that feeling when the day begins’.
