It’s Time to CELEBRATE!

Hey friends…I’m a bit excited!  As of 3 p.m. today, I am officially on vacation for the next 2 weeks…..TWO GLORIOUS weeks!  I have only had 2 days off this year and have been working myself to the bone, I’m exhausted and lately have been succumbing to insomnia (why does that happen when I’m SO overtired??)  So, I am LONG overdue for some extended time off.

Now don’t you worry, I have some great guest posts coming your way so it won’t be a ghost town over here at Life Between the Miles!!  In celebration of my vacation, I am going to share with you the best (and easiest) sangria recipe out there (of course I’m totally biased).  Now, you rarely see anything food/drink related over here because, 99% of anything made in our house is done by Robyn.  I hit the jackpot in the marriage department because not only does he do all the cooking, but he enjoys it and is an AMAZING cook.  But, every now and then I surprise myself and throw something together than is worthy of some praise, so that leads us to now.  Over the course of the summer I have made this sangria quite a few times, it’s a huge hit at parties and my friends always ask me to make it. I have to laugh because it’s literally the easiest thing in the world to make… prepare to be impressed  And if you try it, PLEASE let me know what you think!

What you need:

1 Bottle of Reisling (I use Kung Fu Girl or Stone Fruit, they are my 2 favs and I usually always have a few bottles of each in our wine fridge)

1 Bottle of Peach Flavored sparkling water (Peaches go really well with Riesling, I use Sam’s Choice Clear American Golden Peach Naturally Flavored Sparkling Water )

1 Bag of Frozen Peaches (I am sure you could use fresh peaches, but those are a hot commodity in my house, so frozen are just easier, plus it helps chill the rest of the ingredients)

That’s it…I told you it was easy.  Combine it all in a pitcher, stir and let it sit in the fridge for about an hour and it’s ready to drink.

I almost always double the recipe because it goes FAST in a group setting.  You can thank me later!!  This is such a refreshing drink on a hot summer day. It’s not strong and you can’t really taste the wine at all, it’s just a very light, bubbly glass of happiness.   Just be warned, you may find yourself filling up your cup a few times too many…I cannot be held responsible for that
