Prepare to shriek, lose your marbles, and if it comes to it, wet your pants. Silent Hill has come a long way since its heydey from the PS One era, establishing itself as a genre like no other, frightening the hell out of kids and adults alike with its freakishly surreal and spooky characters and setting. I remember my brother playing this on one fine afternoon, yet I couldn’t allow myself to be in the same space, let alone anywhere near the television screen. I was simply that much of a chicken. Here I am now, a fully grown adult assumed to put his fears behind. But nope, Silent Hill has come creeping back into my life with a vengeance. Universal Studios is set to recreate the ominous and utterly grotesque world of Silent Hill to life. This horror-themed “amusement” ride is expected to open this fall at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort to coincide with its seasonal Halloween Horror Nights; an event twenty years strong and running that recreates themed rides, haunted houses and other attractions based on the studios scariest films. Check the teaser below.
