Dear Friends and Visitors,The most surprising things pop up in my inbox. For example, I get newsletters from a Tarot website once a month. I guess I must have signed up to be a member of their site at some point… I just don’t remember doing it. I’m not a superstitious person and I don’t put much stock in astrology, divination, or card reading. To be honest, I don’t know very much about any of those things so I’m not really a good candidate to judge their merits. Having said that, today’s newsletter from the Tarot people caught my attention. The newsletter talks about a card called “The Ace of Swords” and it supposedly represents the need for the clarity of mind to make bold decisions and the courage to act upon them. According to the newsletter, if you find yourself struggling with fear of the consequences of making a decision, this card is telling you to face up to your fears and forge onwards if it shows up in a reading. Not often but sometimes, I dither over a decision, weighing the pros and cons into oblivion and I hate it when I do that. These moments of indecision make me feel powerless and vulnerable. And when I feel powerless, I’m more likely to let someone else make a decision for me. But that’s not the real me. I now realize that’s the fear-fuelled version of me. The real me doesn’t let other people make decisions for her or run her life. I didn’t expect a Tarot newsletter to open my eyes to the reason why I occasionally dither. Sometimes wisdom finds you through the most peculiar avenues. From now on, when I feel a bout of dithering coming on, I’m going to stop and ask myself what it is that I’m afraid of. Then I can move on while keeping in mind that bravery is not the absence of fear. It’s the will to keep going until you overcome it. Roosevelt said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” I’m not going to argue with the likes of him! Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I hope you’re feeling Groovy!SofiaP.S. One thing I didn’t have to dither about is deciding to read “Rose’s Will”, a novel written by Denise DeSio. It’s available now so go check it out! http://48fourteen.com/catalog/roses-will
