It's A London Fing

For almost a year now everyone has been oooing and aaahhing over George Fitzgerald's unreleased remix of Groove Theory's 'Tell Me'  on Soundcloud. Well now he's only gone and offered it up for download. It's a juicy vocal garage mix with some lucious r'n'b vocals (the first 6 bars sounds strangely similar to Lee Foss' 'U Got Me') bolstered by Fitgerald's trademark soft bass pads and skippy 2-step beats (yes... it's very Joy Orbison). Fun, soulful stuff - tuck in:

Gold Panda gives a softly melodic remix of Lykke Li, add some crackling white noise/ vinyl fuzz and a slowly clicking beat and you have the ever-atmospheric Gold Panda at his best:

Not content with forging an intelligent and deep hybrid of drum n bass they can could call their own, Instra:mental have now set their sites on the house and techno template. Although always on a bit of techno tip, their foray into new territory really started with last year's 'Vogayer', a dark, eerie techno beast played by house and dubstep heads alike. Now, under the alias of Boddika, they're releasing techno-related tunes that retain the snappy essence of their d'n'b and 2-step roots. As part of the promo for Hotflush's Back & Forth comp they're giving Boddika's 'Warehouse' away for free. Be sure to check out both disc one and two of the comp.

A garage classic hailing from all the way back in 1997, Scott Garcia's 'It's A London Thing' has been given a dub remix. A refreshing reinvention and nicely understated version in comparison. But nothing beats the original.
