Sri Lankan assistant coach, as well as batting specialist coach Naweed Nawaz, said compared to the first and second Test wicket of Galle is a big difference and our batsmen already making good progress on this wicket yesterday.

In the first Test which we lost badly last week, the wicket was turning from the beginning but this second Test wicket up to the third day yesterday was a very good batting wicket giving a chance to make runs.

The former National batter Nawaz pointed out that after we lost the first test we had 5-6 days to prepare but I think we couldn’t get lessons from that type of first Test wicket. All batters were ready for the second Test and it was a good workout up to the second day and hope Sri Lankan batters will play with more confidence on the third day.

I think yesterday (day 3) was very important and the way we approached the game, especially during the first two sessions was impressive. Kusal Mendis Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, and debutant Kamindu Mendis played well to build up the innings.

Talking about Niroshan Dickwella the wicketkeeper batter we are giving him a chance to play and show his natural ability while always give free hand to bat for him. Dickwella‘s batting style is different and he has his own style in making runs as a middle-order batter, added Naweed Nawaz.
