Minister of Transportation Yisrael Katz has decided to once more raise the speed limit on Highway 6. This time he is raising it to 120kmph, with an actual 130kmph limit (because police don't ticket until 10 over the limit).
The new limit will first go into effect (today) from Iron in the north until Hadid in the south, with the speed limit on the more southern sections to be increased later. Kvish Chotzeh Yisrael's administration has worked to make the road safer and has put in many more safety measures and improvements in the road making this possible.
From their statistics, roads that have increased speed limits to 110 have not increased in accidents and road safety has not deteriorated. A decrease (an improvement in road safety) has actually been noted.
