Sources familiar with the matter have told The Verge that Microsoft is planning to release a version of its’ latest operating system dubbed “Windows 8.1 with Bing”, which will head out at an extremely low cost or possibly for free. Read Write Web has reached out to Microsoft regarding this matter, however the company has replied claiming it has “nothing to share.”

Much like many other free operating systems which combines ads with its’ features, the integration of Bing will add ads to this new version of Windows 8.1 to cover the expenses for Microsoft. And without doubt it will not only help boost Windows 8 become mainstream, but the company will earn plenty of revenue in return.

Microsoft had a rough time promoting its’ new touch-oriented Windows 8 operating system. Most of the Windows 8 users disliked its’ radical improvements, as a result Microsoft rolled out the Windows 8.1 update to bring back some of the old features back to the OS to satisfy desktop users. Even though, Windows 8 is still far behind in sales compared to Windows 7.

Would you guys finally move to Windows 8, if you get it for free?
