After Hugh Jackman confirming that “Wolverine 3″ and “X-Men: Apocalpyse” to be his last contracts, another heartbreaking news dropped in for X-Men fans!
Michael Fassbender has confirmed that X-Men: Apocalypse is his last contracted role as Magneto.
It’s been reported that all of the leads from X-Men: Frist Class – Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult – were signed on for a trilogy, while this is the first Fassbender has openly spoken about it. As Fassbender mentions here, these contracts come in threes-film form.
“I will shoot a hundred of them,” Fassbender told Variety. “The contract is in three film deals, and this is the last of that. But I’ll be curious to see what happens next.”
Fassbender seems to be of a similar mind to Hoult, who has indicated that he may re-sign with Fox if he’s presented with the right script. For her part, Lawrence has made clear that her time as Mystique is at an end.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits movies on May 27, 2016.
