USA Today brought us half a dozen new stills along with a couple of interesting new details on the upcoming third “Iron Man”. First the one-sheet poster for Iron Man 3.
Marvel’s Kevin Feige says “We are again going to see him [Tony Stark] stripped down more than we’ve ever seen him since he was in that cave, again with his back against the wall and with nothing but his wits to help him survive.”
Thanks to Ben Kingsley’s villain The Mandarin… Who first appeared in Tales of Suspense #50 (February 1964), written by Stan Lee, who created the character, and illustrated by Don Heck, who initially designed the character. EW has your first good look at him.
Feige goes on: “He [Stark] basically loses all of his toys and is forced to just use his mind to rebuild and to face his biggest enemy… Robert is in almost every scene, which, when you have Robert, is not a bad thing. The goal with Iron Man 3 is to again prove that all of our single heroes are as interesting alone as they are when they’re all together in an Avengers movie”
And an interesting new technology the suit also includes “allows him to basically have the suit arrive to him anywhere at any time, piece by piece…and it doesn’t always work at first”… Interesting.
Opening in 3D and 2D theaters on May 3, the Shane Black-directed third installment stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley.
Tomorrow the brand new trailer for Iron Man 3 hits, but today, we have a 17 second long teaser for you.
