More and more rumors about Apple’s new devices keep surfacing, and now we’ve got the first pair of photos showing the alleged LCD display component for the iPhone 6 with a 5.5in screen.

First photos of the display component for the iPhone 6 with a 5.5in screen.

In case you’ve missed it, Apple is preparing to launch two larger iPhones this fall – one with a 4.7in display, the other with a 5.5in screen. A couple of days ago, 9to5mac shared photos of a display attached to a ruler showing a diagonal measurement of approx. 14 cm, which is about 5.5 inches. The photos don’t tell us much aside from that, but they do show that Apple’s most likely started producing the necessary components for its upcoming phone.

The new iPhones should come with a thinner, aluminum design and in similar colors as the iPhone 5S. It’s also expected that they will have a resolution of 1704 x 960 pixels and improved LTE chipsets that will support VoLTE. The new iPhones will also have an A8 system-on-a-chip, which will offer a better battery life and performance. Other interesting features include barometer sensors that will track weather conditions and the iPhone’s relative altitude.

Apple’s new phones should be announced in September, alongside the iOS 8 operating system, as well as the iWatch, new Macs and the iPads.
