iOS: Hide Your Notifications from Others

Posted on the 06 November 2014 by Anna Peterson

We’ve talked about securing your device, be it a smartphone or a tablet, on numerous occasions. Whether you use a pattern, a code, or your fingerprint, the result is the same – your data will be protected.

While your iPhone may be secured with a passcode or your fingerprint, anyone can still read your incoming notifications. In case you don’t want people to read them, whether they are your family members or friends, it’s simple enough to turn notifications off in the Notification Center.

1. Go to Settings>Notification Center.
2. Make sure that the Notifications View option is disabled.
3. Disable the Today View option, as well.

This will stop people from accessing your notifications when your iPhone is locked. We strongly advise you to do this, because your phone is protected for a good reason and it should stay that way.
