An investigation has been launched into the escape of actor Jehan Appuhami while he was in Police custody.
A group of protesters including actor Jehan Appuhami were arrested during the protest march at Union Place in Colombo recently.
Jehan Appuhami was arrested by a Police team led by the Officer in Charge of the Maradana Police. He was then handed over to a group of other Police officers who loaded him into the bus.
Accordingly, the relevant Police officer stated that Jehan Appuhami had escaped from his custody at that time.
The Police further mentioned that if the investigation reveals that if the Police officers were found to have committed any wrongdoing, disciplinary action will be taken against them.
