“We got married in Spring in Santorini, Fira. Villa Bordeaux was our venue and ceremony was held at the small Prophet Ilias church located on the highest second point in Santorini Imerovigli. We started as friends and had the same hobbies which was salsa dancing. From casual dating to having family of our own… getting married was not in our “to do list”. After 7.5 years, he finally proposed. He took me to one of my favorite restaurants in Intercontinental Amstel hotel in Amsterdam and the rest is history”, Monica shared with us.

“My wedding dress was from Bloomfeld luxury bridal. I wanted to have a “princess“ wedding dress that was comfortable to wear. A dress that could make me feel like a princess, just like one of those Disney movies”.

“Walking down the aisle and being on top of the mountain with a mesmerizing view of the caldera together with our loved ones were my favorite moments”.

“The flowers choice was something I’ve always had in mind. Fortunately, my fiancé that time had the same taste when it comes to flower decorations. We wanted it to be intimate, elegant and laid back. The decoration I enjoyed the most is the picturesque background of the caldera. I think it’s one the most beautiful backdrop you can think of when having your wedding in Santorini. It’s a dream come true”.

Bride’s advice: “Don’t let people (friends or relatives) tell you otherwise! Go plan that wedding of your dreams. Making the guests list can be so stressful because you don’t want others to be disappointed. But over the years we’ve learned to be more selective and it’s something we will never regret. Planning requires time. Our civil wedding was held 4 months after our engagement and two months after was our elopement. Take your time and make sure you hire a wedding planner!”
