I always get a little chuffed to find a new, upcoming band from my hometown of Melbourne, Australia, so without further ado and much anticipation, I introduce to you, Manor. Comprised of two talented musicians, Nathaniel Morse and Caitlin Duff, who are also part of the indie outfit Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!, Manor has finally released a new single, “Architecture”, after a relatively long hiatus from the project. Drawing influences from artists such as Grizzly Bear, Warpaint, Melody’s Echo Chamber and Beach House, their music is slow-burning but full of depth, not to mention meticulously produced. Featuring Morse’s fusions of electronic and guitar sounds plus Duff’s layered, soothing vocals and a killer, driving bass line, the track is perfect for intimate background music or a more concentrated listening experience.
Set to release a full EP by the end of this year, this duet will no doubt spring towards a whole new level.
