I had the pleasure of listening and reviewing Delaney Gibson’s new album “Tall Like The Tree“. If you haven’t read the article please do. Also if you haven’t had a chance to listen to this singer that is something you must do now. She has a lot of talent and I can see her going far. I was able to ask her a few questions for the website.
Thank YOU! I’m really thrilled to hear that you like the album. I found my inspiration in NYC. I was living there when I wrote all of the music for Tall Like the Tree. The sites, sound, people, I just took it all in. It was the most creative and inspiring time in my life.
We are two months into 2015. What are the plans for the year ahead?
Well, my biggest goal is to try and secure a publishing deal. I would love to start writing music for other artists. Working on that goal and a new band that I’ve started with a fellow

Will you be doing any shows or festivals so people can see you perform your music live?
I just got back from a great night at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC! I’m hoping to get back out to NYC in the spring to play some more. I’m fulfilling my lifelong dream of performing in Japan in August too! I was able to book a show in Kyoto so if you are in Japan come out and see my debut show! I would LOVE to book a tour there. One day…
I know there is never a time where an artist isn’t working on new music. Is there anything you are currently working on? If so, when can we hear it?
Writing a lot for SIGNY and still writing a ton for my own music. I’ll be releasing new music in the spring. Until then, you have to come out to a live show to hear the new songs!
What has been your favorite song that you’ve worked on and why?
I think I’m most proud of “Lions”. It just feels right, the arrangement, the words, it all rings true to me.
When did you know you wanted to music as your career?
I started performing around age 5 and I pretty much knew then that I wanted to sing. I think around 13 I thought I could give it a go as a career.
Well, I love being a Mum to my amazing son, Copeland! He’s just turned 18 months and he is so loving. I love cooking, photography, yoga, working out and traveling!
Is there another artist you hope to work with in the future? Why would you like to work with that artist?
I would love to work with Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance on a musical. Seriously, call me. Let’s write this!!
I love to ask this question to every new artist I interview. If someone is thinking about starting a career in music what would your advice for them be?
Make friends! That is really your best chance at a career. Be kind to yourself and others. It’s a very long journey so if you can’t find a way to enjoy it, do something else
