Find out more about them through the following interview!
How did you get into wedding planning? We wanted to do something exciting each day. 11 years ago, the Way Themed Events was being understood and executed; it didn't carry the entire design essence and for most, a theme meant just a colour palette. That's it! However, we believed that we could make a difference there and change the way a themed event was perceived from the root. This is the reason we started Theme Weavers Designs, to live every day as different ant design exciting themes for functions. What ingredients make for a perfect event? An overarching theme! Once we have that settled with our client, it sets the mood for the look and feel, complementing food service, the most apt entertainment, costumes, light design and everything else in between.
What's your favorite part of the job? Meeting a variety of people, leaning from them and then putting that knowledge to good use, mostly to design and to execute flawlessly. Are there any events or wedding trends you're excited about at the moment? Having a destination wedding is a trend now and we are excited about this because it totally ties in with our current initiative called Royal Rendezvous. TWD along with Taj Hotels and Incredible India showcases India as a luxury wedding destination and propagates the concept of 'local is global'. (https://www.instagram.com/royalrendezvousofficial) Our 1st edition in March 2019 at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur saw some of the biggest names from wedding planning, Indian fashion couturiers and royal families. What do you consider your biggest career success to date? Our clients see us a company that is true to its word and for us this is really an achievement. The 3 Royal weddings done by us and the support we have received from these families post their weddings is what we will cherish forever.
What's is the motto you live by professionally? You dream it, we theme it! Who has influenced you the most in your career as a wedding planner? Prerana and I were introduced to entertaining and planning by our parents who entertained lavishly and often. Our father especially encouraged us to do something different each time and took interest in designing new experiences. Furthermore, as we grew older, we grew more attached to the heritage and culture of Rajasthan which certainly had a positive influence on us. The palaces and forts are a dream and the concept of heritage weddings caught our fancy completely! We couldn't be happier and honoured to have the opportunity to work in spaces we truly love! What are the key decisions for a couple when planning a wedding? An Indian wedding is a collection of beautiful rituals and many colourful events. The key decisions for a couple are event tonality, budget, season, location, guest list and the duration.
What are the main considerations for a destination wedding abroad? Start planning early to have ample choices in hand, know your guests, be realistic with budgets and be honest with the planner. Which social media platform do you prefer for event marketing and why? Instagram, as it has more than 800 million people actively using it every month. It outshines over other social media platforms and compels businesses to embrace storytelling that steals the show; however, a great blog sometimes is a showstopper too. What's your favorite part about your job? Our favourite part about this job is creating unforgettable experience for our clients and receiving heartfelt appreciation for it.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your career? Annushree: "To be modest and not brag! No matter what heights you achieve, one has to be rooted otherwise it takes a minute for life to give you a reality check! We are very traditional like that"!
Prerana: "To be humble and rooted, you can learn from anyone and everyone. Change is the only constant!"
What is your current favourite colour combination? Teal and pink. A very blue teal with very little grey looks stunning with pink and gold accents and also black and red; can't go wrong this classic. Where do you get the inspiration from? Creativity: we are drawn to period architecture and travel. Businesswise: our grandfather's tenacity and realism. Motivation: our friends and exemplary leaders like Richard Branson and our networking coach; Mr. Paritosh Pathak. What's the most spectacular event you have planned? Each one of the weddings we have done are spectacular for us and for our clients since that's what the couple and family wanted and that's what we delivered. Naming any one of them just doesn't sound fair. What has been your favourite celebrity wedding? Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. What do you believe is the most important characteristic of an event planner? The ability to think beyond ordinary and create something that is larger than life. Which country do you want to plan a destination wedding? We love India as a destination and highly encourage everyone to explore it, but our other choices would be Mexico, Azerbaijan, France, Jordan and Spain.
