Norochcholai Police arrested an interdicted police Sergeant yesterday (30) for defrauding various people by claiming that they would be sent to work in European countries.
A senior police officer said that the suspect was arrested based on two complaints received by the police against him.
The officer further stated that this Sergeant has been under interdiction since December 20, 2000, and he had worked at Chilaw Police Station finally.
