Intel has been busy over the past year making a mind-blowing invention – Edison. No, it’s not a light-bulb. It’s a computer, shrunken down  to the size of an SD card. How about that. Just when we were starting to think that they can’t make a computer smaller than a Raspberry Pi, Intel comes up with a super-tiny PC.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich called Edison “a full Pentium-class PC.” This tiny PC comes packed with an Intel dual-core Quark SOC chip and features built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even supports multiple operating systems.

“Wearables are not everywhere today because they aren’t yet solving real problems and they aren’t yet integrated with our lifestyles,” said Krzanich. “We’re focused on addressing this engineering innovation challenge. Our goal is, if something computes and connects, it does it best with Intel inside.”

Intel Edison is basically a computer oriented for powering up wearable gadgets. Company plans to ship Edison starting this summer. Wireless Charging Bowls, Hands-free Smart Headsets, Smart Earbuds are some of the other plans Intel has for its’ future in wearable tech.
