So, we had a date night, during the week.
Jay-Z and Kanye West were there.
No biggie.
We were having a great time, together, watching 2 great performers whom we have loved for over 10 years.
Hip-hop is something that we have always had in common and that is deeper than just rap music to us. There are these universal truths that just speak you.
But in this moment pictured above, we are brought back to being parents.
It was the realest moment ever. Kanye says that it's the realest verse he's ever written. It is my favorite song, "New Day", where they speak to their unborn child, telling them all of their hopes and dreams for them, hoping to protect them and not make the same mistakes that they have made, promising that they will not make the mistakes that their fathers made. It is beautiful.
At the end of the song, Jay-Z acknowledges all of the fathers. And there right next to me is the wonderful father of my children, with whom I share the vision to keep love in our family and commit to being partners and the best parents that we can be.
It was unforgettable. Definitely a Family Love moment.
