After being in the book blogging world for about six months now I’ve discovered so many great reviewers out there. Some bloggers specialize in a certain genre while others (like ours) feature books all the way from biographies to horror graphic novels. The content of the reviews differ as well and since there are so many different styles out there, I thought it would be insightful to share our review style and why we chose it.
We try to treat this blog like social group rather than an informative news source. My favorite part of this isn’t writing the reviews, it’s communicating with other readers. I love discussing the featured book in the comments: dissecting our favorite and least favorite plot points, the characters we love and love to hate. So since we aim to start a conversation rather than write a report, our reviews are very informal and very gentle when it comes to spoilers. What I mean by this is that we would rather err on the side of a short review and synopsis than give an important plot point away. We want you to experience the book the same way we do and spoilers take all the fun out of it!
