Inn @ Northrup Station: A Colorfully Retro Wake Up in Portland

By Jeska @WandererJeska

Heading into Portland, I knew we wanted to stay downtown because we wanted to hit up some doughnut shops as well as taste some local brew. So when I stumbled upon the Inn @ Northrup Station I knew this was the spot to be. Conveniently located along Portland’s streetcar line, this boutique hotel is surrounded by adorable boutiques and tasty restaurants but the selling point for me was the colorful retro feel.

As you arrive at the front desk you are greeted with a friendly smile, taffy, and an etch-a-sketch hello. I immediately fell in love with the color backdrop of the front desk and the way they’ve tastefully added pops of funky patterns that continued throughout the hallway and all the way into our room.

When we opened the door we were thrilled to find a plush king bed, full kitchen, a velvety pink pull out couch, desk area, two flat screen tvs, and a swivel chair to lounge in. I had to excitedly feel all of the fabrics and oogle at the boomerang green carpet.

Since we had been in a car for hours, I needed a nice hot shower so I loved opening the door to find a pampering hot pink bathroom with all the amenities a girl could need. Once I hopped out, I headed straight to bed as I was exhausted.

Bright and early the next morning I headed downstairs to find a deliciously tasty breakfast waiting. I grabbed a few goodies and coffee for the hubs from the adorable coffee station to start. We enjoyed our breakfast on our adorable little patio area outside complete with tiki torches.

Once my belly was full I headed to the rooftop to enjoy a beautifully colorful view of Portland while getting in my yoga practice. By the way, they even had a yoga mat in the room for you to use, huge props! After meditating for the day, we headed out to explore downtown Portland before checking out.

The Inn at Northrup Station was honestly way more than I expected. From the fabulous customer service to the colorfully retro feel, I couldn’t have asked for more. We are already planning another trip to Oregon and we will be staying at the Inn again without hesitation.
