In this materialistic
Nowadays, all countries in this global village are thirsty for development and they are willing to go to every possible length to achieve their goals.in this jostle for power and race against time, man has been blinded, as he praises science in all dimensions and has completely forgotten its adverse effects on an only homeland.
Our hunger for development and our never ending needs have destroyed the purity of our dear planet. We have dug out the earth, destroyed billions of hectares of land, shattered tons of ecological cycles, disturbed the global system and savaged the beauty of nature as an excuse for buttering mankind.
Man is greedy social animal who is looking for his own benefits in every way possible. The explosions in mountains for roads have destroyed their landscape, mass deforestation for urbanism has shattered billions of species of wildlife. This in turn gives birth to numerous other disasters which cause a huge disorder in this global system.
We all claim to be environment friendly, but no one actually implements it in their lives. Brutal cutting down of trees has effects which cannot be cured. Trees basically provide life and are classified as lungs of nature. Cutting them down provokes hazards like floods which then lead to large scale destruction.
Our daily life, and careless everyday acts, all are contributing to this issue. Each person is responsible for this abnormal earth condition. Our development tactics by industrialization and uncontrolled consumption of fossil fuels have released gases that eat up the purity of this gift of Earth.
All these contributed to a global phenomenon “Global warming “which has completely shocked the smooth system of Earth. Unusual weather conditions, devastating floods and fires are all “gifts” of this “global warming”.
The … er … credit for this, once again, goes to humanity.
The little ray of hope that was left has been turned down by the introduction of nuclear energy. The emission of deadly rays has everlasting effects. These poisonous rays penetrate our bodies and leads to life threating diseases and disorders. Japan suffered these emissions and recently, after an earthquakes, the whole world went on red alert.
Once social and hospitable, man has become a greedy, selfish and brutal creature. Man has now become a ferocious beast gnawing away at the essence of nature. Wars are fought and lands are destroyed and it does not leave even the slightest mark of shame on our faces.
The worst part of the scenario is that we know we are doing wrong. But our feelings have rotten to an extent that we do not do anything to stand up for this heavenly planet. All of us play our part in running this world, but no one is brave enough to heal it. Several organizations have launched certain campaigns to provide us a better tomorrow. We just need to frame this quote in our minds:
“If not Earth; where?
If not now; when?
If not you; who?”
