During this uncertain time facing a pandemic, Inciner8 made the decision to purchase a large stock of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from a supplier in Merseyside to be donated to those who need it most.
We purchased our stock of over 7,000 visors and PPE from Richardsons Healthcare in Liverpool, who have reduced their usual production to manufacture essential face masks and visors to protect the frontline healthcare workers fighting Covid-19.
Many similar donations have been happening nationwide to NHS hospitals and staff, Inciner8 recognised that local care homes and care workers were struggling to protect themselves from Covid-19 in the workplace.
Who Did We Donate To?
Following the nominations from the Inciner8 team, the PPE equipment was donated to care homes Queenscourt Hospice, Stocks Hall, Hatherlow House and The Holies, and to home health service Alcedo Care. A donation was also made to Southport District Hospital, with remaining supplies being distributed to NHS Hesketh Centre, HMP Liverpool and Parenting 2000 in Southport.
Halima Wild, sales and spare parts administrator at Inciner8, nominated Hatherlow House to be a recipient of the visors as her stepmother has worked there for four years.

"We feel humbled that Inciner8 has recognised the contribution care home workers and other key workers outside of the NHS make to the tackling of this deadly virus within our region. Their donation of PPE is unbelievably generous and won't just ensure our elderly residents are cared for but will mean that our staff can stay fit and well enough to be by their side through this unsettling time."
How The North West Have Been Supporting Local Communities
Businesses and local individuals across the North West have been finding different ways to support those most in need during the pandemic.
Local restaurants have been providing free take out meals to NHS staff and other frontline workers, and some pubs have been providing care packages to members of the community who are isolating.
We have also seen many local taxi drivers and firms offering free transport to the elderly, allowing them to carry out essential shopping at the newly arranged opening times specifically for the vulnerable.
Schools across the North West have also been utilising their Technology Departments and manufacturing masks for the local hospitals and doctors surgeries in the area.
How Can You Help?
With so many people coming together to support their communities during the pandemic, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
- Contact your local food bank to volunteer with the packing and delivery of food parcels
- Check on your neighbours - Ask if there is anything they may need that you can assist with
- Volunteer remotely - befriend people who are isolated or help people access information regarding Covid-19
Inciner8 have also been supporting NGO's worldwide, providing medical waste incinerators to help hospitals manage Coronavirus infected waste.
