A couple of nights ago, sky-watchers from across the Americas and Asia were about to catch a glimpse of one of the sky's natural wonders...a blood moon. This lunar eclipse means that the moon appears orange or red which is due to sunlight bouncing off our atmosphere. Although this marvelous spectacle wasn't visible in Europe or Africa, thousands of people were able to witness this dramatic event. Click here for photos of the blood moon and for more information.

Five sightings of one of the rarest migrant visitors to the UK have been recorded. Thought to have been blown across the Atlantic while on their annual migration to North America, five Monarch butterflies have been reported in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Although this is a long way off the 300 butterflies that were recorded in 1999, it is very positive news for the species in the UK. To find out more please read the full article.
