Here, we give you the latest news and goings-on in the industry.

On October 6 2011, the first St. Regis in Florence opened, taking over where the Grand Hotel once was. After 10 months of recreating the hotel, the St. Regis debuted, still holding its architectural value since it was originally designed in the 1400's by Filippo Brunelleschi.

Its 81 guestrooms, 19 suites, and special Bottega Veneta suite all feature hand-carved gold leaf plaques, custom furnishings, crystal chandeliers, and artwork. Each room is named after great Italian artists, noblemen, and benefactors.

Another great feature of the hotel is its reputable restaurant/bar lounge in the area. The kitchen is overseen by acclaimed chef Etichetta Pinchiorri, owner of 3-Michelin star restaurant Enotecta Pinchiorri, also in the city.

The hotel, with its amazing location in the midst of the city's most beloved attractions, puts visitors in the center of Florence's best offerings. And within the hotel, there is also much to do such as losing oneself in books from the library, taking in views from the hotel's terraces, enjoying treatments in the Iridium Spa Suites, and of course, the St. Regis standard of world-class service.
