In Praise to the Almighty Father

“HaShem is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? HaShem is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men came upon me to devour my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise up against me, even then will my trust be firm.

“One thing I have asked of HaShem, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in the house of HaShem all the days of my life, to behold the graciousness of HaShem and to visit Him in His temple. For He sheltered me in His pavilion in the day of evil; He hid me in the deep of His tent, He lifted me on a rock. And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies around me; and I will offer in His temple exultant sacrifice. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises unto HaShem!

“Hear, O HaShem, when I cry with my voice. Be gracious to me and answer me. On Your behalf, my heart has said, ‘Seek His face.’ Your face, HaShem, I do seek. Do not hide Your face from me. Put not Your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Do not cast me off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation! For though my father and my mother have forsaken me, HaShem will care for me still.

“Teach me Your way, O HaShem, and lead me in an even path, because of them who lie in wait for me. Deliver me not over the will of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me and breathe out violence. This I believe: I shall see the goodness of HaShem in the land of the living. Wait on HaShem, be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for HaShem” (Ps 27:1-14).
