In My Mailbox is a weekly meme created by Kristi at The Story Siren. It is a where we can let the books we got this week flaunt it. Work it baby.
Sent from Publishers:
I had this on my 'Waiting For' list a little while ago so I decided to request a copy! It is a beautiful book and is a collection of love stories that are written by very eccentric narrators (some animals!) Sounds awesome and adorable.
Title: Once You Break a Knuckle
Author: D.W Wilson
I didn't request this book but I am so happy to have received it! I hadn't heard of it but now I've looked into it I think it will be awesome. It is a collection of short stories that 'shine a light on the yearning male heart that any curious females of the species should read'. I'M CURIOUS! Intrigued even!
Netgalley/Edelweiss Books:
Author: Rachel Hartman
I am so happy I got this! Murder you say? By DRAGONS you say!? Yep I am very, very excited for some dragon-filled fun especially because the cover is so gorgeous.
Title: Wonder Show
Author: Hannah Barnaby
This looks right up my street. I love carousels and circus related books and books that have the word 'menagerie' and 'Wayward Girls' in the blurb...which is not often let me tell you! I will have to read it soon!
Title: Tell the Wolves I'm Home
Author: Carol Rifka Brunt
LOVE the cover. Prettyful green- for some reason there aren't many green books around these days! This sounds adorable: lonely teenage girl feels her uncle is the only person she can confide in and when he dies she falls apart...until she meets someone else who is grieving his death...
Author: Muriel Spark
Muriel Spark is one of my favorite authors and I ADORE this cover. This book was published in 1999 and is amazing...as far as I can remember. I really wanted to re-read it and write a review on it so I was so glad to get this copy!
Books I bought:
These books have been out for aggges and everyone seems to have read them so I thought I'd give them a try! I am trying to read more YA so these seemed like good choices...and I've been craving some romance in my life lately and these both looked cute!
Title: Beastly Author: Alex Flinn
I've heard mixed things about this but I like the idea of a Beauty and the Beast re-telling so I thought I would have to see for myself! Not really liking the fact I accidentally got the movie tie-in cover but...oh well!
I really want to read this- it sounds mysterious and romantic and who-dunnit-y! Reviews tend to say it's great so I have high hopes! Also like the starry-ness of the cover.
Those are the books I got this week: let me know if you've read or want to read any of them and if they are any good!
