In 2013 Start Your Parties With Your Bang (By Catering & Party Planning Being True To Oneself )

By Carlo @CarloAtYourServ

Did the New Year countdown thing last night partying in Vegas-baby (Las Vegas, NV) and now of course... it's 2013, the New Year.
We danced. We sang. We laughed. We drank. We partied.
It's been a great time! I've gotten some sleep (taken a nap, essentially). And now I'm talking to you guys because I'm the only one up; awake.
So, with a Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino in one hand and a glass of Veuve (Veuve Clicquot champagne) in the other, I'm checking in and sharing a quote with you from one of my "sheroes", business woman extraordinaire, Martha Stewart:

"Without an open-minded mind, you can never be a great success."

So stay open and make your entrance the true "dramatic entrance". Don't let some Drama Queen that shows up steal the show!
Here’s another quote... this one pertains to parties, specifically.
From Preston Bailey, party designer extraordinaire, author of:

Preston has an upcoming January 29th, 2013 anxiously awaited new book release on the way...

  • Dear Preston: Doing Business With Our Hearts: A Practical and Friendly Guide to Running Your Own Creative Service Business)...

... to get you off to a banging party 2013 start Preston said:

"Creating an entrance is the most important thing of a party. You want to get their (the guests) attention."

So listen, when you're hooking up your shindigs this year, walk on the wild side and step out of the box a little. Don’t let yourself get caught up in the hype, believing the big fat lie; that what everyone else is doing is what you should be doing.

That really is the biggest lie known to man; that it's good to be like other people. No it's not!
"Do you"... be you.
Because hopefully by now, you've got being who you are down pat.
Plan your doggone parties with all of the zest and zeal of you injected into them that you can muster, and call it a day.
I mean, what more can anyone ask for? And if they do ask you for more, if it's unreasonable or not doable... just tell 'em "I'm gonna have to Cater-Hate on that... Sorry Charlie!", regroup and keep doing you.
Focus on being yourself adding that particular element of creative style to your parties and everything will be politically self-correct, on point, and just... "right".
Happy New Year! May your parties be the pride and joy of the existentialism of that which embodies the best and truest reflections of you!
Whatever you've been dreaming of doing, go on and do it. And remember that I said this...

Your desires are your dreams... and your dreams are your legacy. - Carlo Powe-Crawford
Happy New Year everybody!
PS The main party trend in 2013? Dream bigand dream on!

I do this... I write to help to create to opportunities for all of you to pursue your passion to have parties without regard to economic constraints.
I think if we keep talking about the cost of parties (I blog, you write comments), together, maybe we can break down some of the party industry price barriers and shame some of the people who've taken your money and delivered a poor quality product right into growing a conscious and treating you right (nice thought, isn't it?).
Opportunities to be inspired about parties are everywhere. Yet, people looking out for your wallet are few and far between. My goal is to inspire you, causing you to question the way things are that have been the status quo for too long. When we stand together and speak up, we can be a powerful force.
Let's keep the conversation of change going. Because in the sea of everyone talking, one voice is a whisper... several voices are a scream.
Leave a comment and share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions below. Remember to be as specific as possible because what you have to say helps us all.
I really love you guys. There, I said it.
Always... be encouraged and be encouraging to others too,
