Imli Khajoor Chutney (Date And Tamarind Relish)

Serves: 2 cupsIngredients:
- 1 cup deseeded dates (khajoor)
- 2 tablespoon deseeded tamarind (imli)or 4 tablespoon tamarind pulp
- 1/2 cup grated jaggery (gur)
- Chilli powder to taste
- Salt to taste
- Pinch of asafoetida (Heing)
- 1/2 teaspoon Dried ginger powde
- ¼ teaspoon fennel seeds(saunf)
- ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
Method:
- Cook the dates and tamarind with 3 cups water till they soften
- Add the jaggery, chilli powder, asafoetida, dried ginger powder, fennel seeds, roasted cumin powder, salt and stir well. Cover and cook till thick.
- Allow the mixture to cool, and then blend in a mixer to a smooth paste.
- Strain the mixture through a sieve.
- Use as required.
- You can store it in air tight container in refrigerator.
