Illustration Friday #7: Intention

By Jardley @jardster

Madre by Jardley Jean-Louis

I actually did this one in high school for my A.P. 2D Design class so it’s a few years old but thought it would work for the challenge. It think it’s pretty self-explanatory but still feel the need to say it’s an intent to go somewhere.

I don’t really paint like this anymore, I’d love to do it again though. From what I remember I had a really great time creating this painting. It’s painted on newspaper over cardboard. I remember I was being very quick, almost in a rush but that was deliberate, applying thick layers of acrylic paint, and basically just stabbing and stipling with the brush to copy a photo I took from my camera. It’s called Madre cause I was actually taking a picture of the person on the left, my mother.
