So much for that rebranding effort by the Republican Party, huh? You know that part where they either try to be more racially inclusive or at least, you know, not say things that could be considered “racially insensitive”?
Well back to square one for them as Montgomery County Republican Party chairman, Jim Allen resigned after blasting Erika Harold, a conservative attorney (and former Miss America) who is challenging incumbent Rep. Rodney Davis for Congress, in a widely circulated email. In the email, Allen had this to say about Harold:
Rodney Davis will win and the love child of the D.N.C. will be back in Shitcago by May of 2014 working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires. The little queen touts her abstinence and she won the crown because she got bullied in school,,,boohoo..kids are cruel, life sucks and you move on.. Now, miss queen is being used like a street walker and her pimps are the DEMOCRAT PARTY and RINO REPUBLICANS.
That was the email by the way, we didn’t capitalize or inject improper grammar into it to make it appear even more ballistic. I guess Allen is trying to imply that Harold is a Democratic plant that is running to make the seat blue; but even then, he comes across as completely unhinged. Harold is an attorney who graduated from Harvard Law School in 2007 and while her views are ardently conservative, and it appears she’s running to Rodney Davis’s right, this is completely uncalled for.
Also, usage of “pimps”? Classy, Mr. Allen; part of the reason why you are now unemployed I imagine.
Nonetheless, to make this post relevant to our site, we covered Davis in our “Taking Back The House” series that you can see here. While the Democratic Party field is taking shape, the DCCC has backed Judge Ann Callis for the seat and she should be perceived as the frontrunner.
