News stories of the comparative failure of the Emirates Airline as a commuter route to and from The Docklands have popped up on slow news days ever since the end of the Olympics last year.
The lack of commuters, however, means that visitors and Londoners on a day off can enjoy the spectacular views from London’s only cable car service in relative peace and quiet.
Here’s one of the views in question (below)…
Oyster Card users can pay with their Oyster Cards, £3.20 for a single fare – without an Oyster the single cash fares clocks in at £4.30. Full pricing info is at their website www.emiratesairline.co.uk.
The Northern terminus is at Royal Docks, 27 Western Gateway London E16 4FA. Travelling from the South go to Emirates Cable Car Terminal, Edmund Halley Way, London SE10 0FR (see the map below)
It’s the best way to just hang around in London. (Do you see what we did there? :) ) And it's the ideal compliment to the Docklands Walk on the first Saturday of every month, full details at www.walks.com.
