Story: If starts when Bea (Fleming) moves back to New York to live with her Grandmother (Shaw). Her father (Krasinski) is preparing for an operation and she has already suffered the loss of her mother. Bea finds herself isolated in the big city until she meets a strange neighbor Cal (Reynolds) and his unusual friends.

Cal takes Bea to a world where she can see imaginary friends who have been left behind. To distract her from the problems she is facing, she helps Cal attempt to re-home the Imaginary friends.

Verdict on If

If is a cute family comedy following a young girl dealing with a troubling time in her life. She ends up helping imaginary friends find new children and learning more about growing up along the way.

This movie resembles a mix of ‘Monsters Inc’ and ‘Inside Out’. It uses the ideas of friendly beings around us and emotions children aren’t prepared to understand. This helps pull on the heartstrings while giving us some comedy to lighten the blows. The movie has a big message and one which gets delivered extremely well. Young Caily Fleming is brilliant in the leading role, she feels like the biggest star in the movie.

Final Thoughts If is an emotional and delightful movie.
