Ice The Dog In The Douro Valley

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

We are back from a holiday weekend (The Feast of the Assumption) in the family home village of Penela da Beira, where festas in honor of Nossa Senhora da Piedade (Our Lady of Mercy) were also taking place. We brought our visitors and Ice the Dog, which made for a full car AND house.

I don’t know why, but Ice is either in a photobombing phase or, instead of crashing everyone else’s photos, he sticks his nose directly into the lens. He usually avoided the camera before, but he’s suddenly developed a bit of a curiosity about it. In these pictures, he would like to tell you to come to the Douro Valley… but since his head is taking up so much of the frame, you can barely tell that’s where he is!

I didn’t bring along my camera to the fireworks, but here are a few shots from the point-n-shoot that sort of turned out (operative words: sort of).
