A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the tragic death of a woman named Glory Akpaku, whom he claimed to be his sugar mommy in Delta State.
According to reports, the suspect confessed to the crime, admitting to stabbing the victim multiple times in the neck, hand, and stomach with a knife. The suspect, identified as Akpoveta, made this confession in a video shared by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe.
The altercation between Akpoveta and Akpaku reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the sum of N100,000. Akpoveta had entrusted the money to Akpaku for safekeeping, but when he needed it, she allegedly refused to return it.
The suspect recounted confronting Akpaku about the money, but instead of resolving the issue, it escalated into a heated argument. Akpaku purportedly insisted on returning the money after returning from the market, leading to further tension between the two.
In a fit of rage, Akpoveta confessed to stabbing Akpaku during the confrontation. He expressed remorse for his actions, attributing them to the influence of evil forces.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, shared the interrogation video as a cautionary tale, urging the public to learn from the tragic incident. He emphasized the need to address conflicts peacefully and avoid resorting to violence.
