I Thank You. Bow.

Grateful for...
  • all the vehicles that have stopped to let Mustachio cross the street
  • packing on pounds thanks to food establishments and their deal offers
  • the truck driver in Medellin who stopped when Mustachio stuck out his nonexistent thumb
  • Captain Rodel for expertly navigating the rough seas to Tinaga Island
  • the lovely weather on the way to Luzon's highest peak
  • friends who let Mustachio dirty their precious gear such as cookset, burner, sleeping bag, headlamp
  • friends who wasted some of their time with Mustachio while he was tramping in their town
  • the little old Korean ladies who shared their umbrella while Mustachio and friends were waiting for the bus in the rain
  • people who let Mustachio tag along to their hikes and foodtrips
  • escaping the killer sardine can on wheels on the way back to Cebu City
  • the negotiating skills of a friend
  • noisy people in and outside the creepy lodge in Mambukal (complete silence would have made Mustachio's mustache stand on end)
  • Couchsurfing
  • the tuktuk driver who literally took the shirt off his back just so a friend could have the proper attire to enter the palace
  • random people game enough to pose for a photo
  • the kindness of strangers
  • making it to the boat with a minute to spare
  • strangers sharing their food - spaghetti and bread from Mr Guiller and peanuts from a fellow passenger
  • Kawasan being off limits, discovered Canlaob River instead
  • legs that have taken Mustachio to the top of the Philippines
  • Mr Jun Plaza for letting Mustachio camp on his turf and granting an interview too
  • WiFi (how Mustachio found directions to Picobello) and perfect timing (got to Picobello while it was happy buy one take one pizza hour)
  • getting invited to a cooking demo and taking home some of the dishes too
  • everyone who has helped Mustachio find his way in a new place
  • being in scallop land
  • finding napoleones in Bacolod's neighbor
  • all those who have taken the time to lurk around this blog
